Shopify's theme editor has a Custom Liquid section that accepts HTML and scripts. That is all you need to place a Shopreviews widget on your homepage, product pages or cart — no app permissions and no changes to your theme files.
Step by step
- Copy your snippet
Choose a layout, colours and review sources in the widget builder and copy the embed snippet.
- Open the theme editor
In Shopify admin go to Online Store → Themes and click Customize on your live theme.
- Add a Custom Liquid section
Pick the template at the top (for example Home page or Products → Default product), click Add section → Custom Liquid and paste the snippet.
- Save and check
Click Save and open the page in a new tab. The widget loads straight away.
Menu names are shown in English; in a translated admin they have the local equivalent.
What the embed snippet looks like
<div data-shopreviews="carousel"
data-lang="en"
data-sources="google,trustpilot,kiyoh"></div>
<script src="https://cdn.shopreviews.com/widget.js" async></script>
Example only: copy your own snippet from the widget builder or your Shopreviews dashboard. It contains your layout, colours, language and review sources.

Where to place the widget
- Product template — below the description or add-to-cart button. One section covers every product page.
- Homepage — a carousel or grid under your hero builds trust from the first visit.
- Cart page — a compact badge reassures shoppers right before checkout.
Good to know
- For a floating popup or badge on every page, add the snippet once to the footer section group, or paste it just before
</body>intheme.liquidvia Edit code. - Vintage (pre-2.0) themes have no Custom Liquid section. Paste the snippet into the template file via Themes → … → Edit code instead.
