Terms of Service
By using Shopreviews you agree to these terms. We've written them in plain English — here's what they mean.
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") form a legal agreement between you and Gearlab B.V., a company registered in the Netherlands ("we", "us", "our"), governing your use of the Shopreviews platform and all associated services (the "Service"). The short version: use Shopreviews fairly, pay on time, and we will keep the widget running reliably. If something goes wrong, Dutch law applies and disputes go to the courts in Haarlem.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using the Service in any way, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and, where applicable, our Data Processing Agreement.
If you are acting on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms. In that case, "you" refers to that entity.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Shopreviews is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that aggregates customer reviews from third-party review platforms and displays them via embeddable widgets on your website. Supported sources include Google, Trustpilot, Kiyoh, Trusted Shops, Facebook, WebwinkelKeur, Stamped, Yellow Pages and Feedback Company.
Depending on your plan, the Service may include:
- Embeddable JavaScript widgets for any website platform;
- Native integrations for Shopify and WooCommerce;
- Automatic injection of structured data (AggregateRating schema markup) to enable Google rich-result stars;
- Review deduplication, AI-assisted translation and real-time sync.
We reserve the right to modify, add or remove features at any time. Where a change materially reduces the Service, we will give you reasonable prior notice.
3. Account Registration
To use the Service you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information during registration and to keep that information up to date.
You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at support@shopreviews.com if you become aware of any unauthorised access to or use of your account.
You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal authority to operate the store you connect to the Service. We may refuse registration or suspend accounts at our discretion if we believe these requirements are not met.
4. Plans, Pricing and Payment
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance. All prices are quoted in euros (EUR) and are exclusive of VAT. VAT is added for EU customers where applicable under Dutch law.
Payment is processed by Stripe. By providing your payment details, you authorise us to charge the applicable fees on a recurring basis until you cancel. You are responsible for ensuring your payment details remain valid.
We may change our prices at any time with 30 days' written notice (sent by email to your registered address). Continued use of the Service after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the new price.
We issue invoices by email. Late or failed payments may result in suspension of your account until the outstanding balance is settled. We reserve the right to charge statutory interest on overdue amounts under Dutch law.
5. Free Plan and Trials
The free plan is provided indefinitely at no cost with the features listed on the pricing page. No credit card is required and there is no time limit.
Paid plans include a 14-day free trial that requires no credit card. At the end of the trial period:
- If you have added payment details and explicitly confirmed an upgrade, your chosen paid plan will begin and you will be billed accordingly.
- If you have not provided payment details or have taken no action, the trial ends automatically and your account reverts to the free plan. No charge is made.
We will not convert a trial into a paid subscription without your explicit confirmation.
6. Cancellation and Refunds
You may cancel your paid plan at any time from your account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you retain full access to the paid plan until that date.
We do not offer pro-rata refunds for unused time remaining in a billing period, except where required by applicable mandatory law (including EU consumer protection regulations).
If we suspend or terminate your account due to a material breach of these Terms, no refund will be issued for any pre-paid fees.
If you wish to dispute a charge, contact us at support@shopreviews.com within 30 days of the charge date.
7. Acceptable Use
You may use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree that you will not:
- (a) use the Service to display reviews you do not have the right to display under the terms of the originating platform;
- (b) manipulate, fabricate, selectively omit or otherwise misrepresent reviews;
- (c) violate the terms of service of any connected review platform (including Google, Trustpilot and others listed in Section 2);
- (d) use the Service in any manner that violates applicable law or regulation, including consumer protection, advertising or data protection law;
- (e) attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, copy, disassemble or otherwise derive source code from the Service;
- (f) introduce malicious code, conduct denial-of-service attacks or otherwise disrupt the Service or its infrastructure;
- (g) resell or white-label the Service, or sublicense access to it, without a separate written agreement with us.
We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations and to suspend or terminate accounts where a breach is found.
8. Intellectual Property
Shopreviews, including all associated software, designs, documentation, trademarks and content created by us, is the intellectual property of Gearlab B.V. and is protected by Dutch and international intellectual property law. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of our intellectual property to you.
You retain full ownership of your store data and of the reviews displayed through the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to access, process and display your review data solely to the extent necessary to provide and improve the Service.
If you submit feedback or suggestions about the Service, we may use them without restriction or compensation.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by Dutch law.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or free from viruses. We do not control the accuracy, completeness or reliability of reviews sourced from third-party platforms and accept no liability for their content.
We do not guarantee that Google will display rich-result star ratings for your store. The display of rich results is entirely at Google's discretion and subject to Google's own guidelines, which may change at any time without notice.
Nothing in this section affects any rights you may have as a consumer under mandatory Dutch or EU law that cannot be excluded by contract.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Dutch law, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Service is limited to the total fees you paid us in the three calendar months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
We are not liable — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), statutory duty or otherwise — for any:
- indirect, incidental or consequential loss;
- loss of revenue, profits or anticipated savings;
- loss of data or corruption of data;
- loss of goodwill or reputation.
Nothing in this section limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other matter that cannot be excluded under Dutch or EU law.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately and without prior notice if you materially breach these Terms, if we are required to do so by law or by a court order, or if continued provision of the Service to you would expose us to legal liability.
For all other reasons, we will provide at least 30 days' written notice before terminating your account.
You may terminate your account at any time by cancelling your plan from your dashboard and deleting your account.
On termination of your account for any reason:
- Your right to use the Service ceases immediately (or at the end of the notice period, as applicable).
- You may export your data for 30 days following the termination date.
- After 30 days, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes) are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent court in Haarlem, the Netherlands.
If you are an EU consumer, nothing in this clause affects your right to rely on the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence, or to bring proceedings in the courts of that country.
You may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform for cross-border disputes.
